18th Birthday Party Food For Adults

Serving popular fast food items and other junk foods can be one approach to your 18th birthday menu. Other popular cafeteria fare are also very welcome.

But if you want to go gourmet, especially if the celebrant prefers gourmet dishes, that will also be fine. Just be sure to add some chips here and there since they are popular on 18th birthdays.

For your dessert, an ice cream cake is definitely in order. But if you want to go for the ordinary variety, a cake in the shape of a cool car, a sexy lady, or a lady’s purse will be just right.

Serving some virgin cocktails will add a lot to what you have prepared so far so they’re definitely worth considering!

21st Birthday Party Food For Adults

If you went for the pub-like theme, then your menu can follow and you can serve popular pub dishes like fish and chips, chicken fingers, sandwiches, onion rings and other favorites. Going for the dorm-like party? Then serving popular cafeteria fare might be what you want. Another option is to go for typical fast food and/or junk food favorites. So this means burgers, hotdogs, popcorn, chips and so on are definitely in.

But if you think celebrating this milestone birthday means welcoming fine dining and going for gourmet dishes, that should also be fine.

For your dessert, an ice cream cake is definitely in order. But if you want to go for the ordinary variety, a cake in the shape of a cool car, a sexy lady, or a lady’s purse will be just right.

Alcoholic drinks are popular on 21st birthdays but if you prefer your party to be more than just a drinking party, then serving soda and virgin cocktails might be more to your taste. You can even go grown up and serve coffee. We don't know about you, but we like this idea since there's nothing like a cuppa after enjoying a full meal. That should keep everybody awake and enjoy your party a wee bit longer.

30th Birthday Party Food For Adults

We think that for 30th birthday party food, going for sinful dishes is the way to go. Indulge with different favorites of your birthday boy or girl, which we will leave to you, since this can vary depending on his/her taste, which for all we know can be something typical like grilled burgers or something classy like foie gras. Dieting is strictly not allowed for guests of this special birthday party.

Another approach is to serve food of the sensual variety. Nope, we don’t mean naughty-shaped pasta or cake. Sexy here means dishes composed of asparagus, honey, almonds, basil, chocolate, strawberry and other aphrodisiac foods/ingredients. That should give you lots of choices on what to serve, from appetizer to dessert.

If the (wo)man of the hour really prefers healthy dishes, then we say go for it, since eating healthy nowadays does not necessarily mean eating bad food. You can start with some Japanese sashimis and makis if you think your guests will appreciate it. Your main course can be composed of grilled fish or meat, depending on your preference. And nothing beats fresh fruit for dessert, which you can serve as is or in the juice variety.

Since a birthday party won’t be complete without a cake, we suggest you go for one. You can just serve your favorite chocolate cake or if you want a special-shaped one, something in the shape of elements related to the decade of his/her birth will do - if during the 1980s, a neon-colored cake or a Hello Kitty one will be just right. Or just go for a plain square or round one with the number 30 icingd or decorating it.

Your beverage can just be mainly composed of fruit juice or shake, but since you might want to make a birthday toast with something with more zing, there are lots of recipes of fruit cocktails scattered around the net and they’re just a few clicks away. Of course you can also serve some aged wine, one that is 30 years old or so will be quite perfect.

40th Birthday Party Food For Adults

There are many ways to approach your 40th birthday party menu. The first approach, and our most recommended, is to ask your birthday boy or girl to pick his/her favorite dishes and prepare them. But since you also need to please your guests’ palate, there’s really no rule that says you can’t prepare other dishes on top of your celebrant’s choices.

Another approach is to serve old fashion favorites. Bread and stew, cheese, kidney pies, mutton, veal are just the tip of the iceberg. Consult his/her mom or grandma when you finally make your choices.

If you have some grand and elegant looking silverware and glassware, there’s no better time than now to bring them out, since they will add to the ambiance you’re setting.

For your dessert, there’s nothing like a nice peach cobbler or old fashion apple pie to bring back memories. But if you’re going for healthier snacks, then nothing will beat serving fresh fruits.

Since a birthday party won’t be complete without a cake, we suggest you go for one. You can bake a special-shaped cake (shaped like an old car or anything that represents old times) or just go for a plain square or round one with the number 40 icingd or decorating it.

Some aged wine will be a great addition to your repertoire. Peach, apple or tropical punch to wash everything down will also make a refreshing alternative.

60th Birthday Party Food For Adults

When preparing the dishes for this theme, you can approach this by combining old and new favorites. You can make this like the favorites of the old populace in general or make it more about the celebrant and just go for his/her choices.  Old favorites can mean bread and stew, cheese, kidney pies, mutton, veal, etc. New ones can mean pasta dishes, salads, steak, burger, and the like.

Another approach is to ask friends for some of their treasured secret family recipes. If they’re not comfortable to give you a copy, then just ask them to make the dish and reimburse them later.

Using the right plates and utensils will do a lot to any party with this theme, so bring out of your glassware, silverware and goldware since they will give the right touch.

Since a birthday party won’t be complete without a cake, we suggest you go for one. You can bake a special-shaped cake – shaped like an old car or anything that represents old times.

Alice in Wonderland Party Food

Completing your Alice birthday party with a tea party menu is quite fitting. So this means your typical scones, cupcakes and other pastries are very welcome.

But if you want to add some meat in your tea party or you want to veer away from a tea party menu as a whole, you can still serve what you want – from finger sandwiches to pizza, and easily make them perfect for your Alice party by placing eat me, try me, and other labels on them. You can also do the same for your drinks and they will work perfectly with what you have prepared so far.

Want another way to make your chosen meal perfect for your Alice party? We think that making regular-sized food into their giant or tiny counterpart should also do the trick. This means serving your typical spaghetti but with giant meatballs, or your special cupcake that comes in miniature sizes. That should add lots of fun and variety to your typical party fare.

Still deciding what cake to prepare? We think that a heart-shaped or teapot cake will work well on any Alice birthday party so we’re pitching that in. And to wash everything down, there’s nothing like hot tea as a perfect counterpart for your sweet cake and maybe some cold and sweetened tea for those who prefer their drinks cold. Whether you go one way or the other, having tea in the picture will remind everybody of Alice and her party with the Mad Hatter, so it’s definitely a right addition.

Asian Party Food For Adults

You will most likely decide between Chinese or Japanese dishes. If you’re leaning on Chinese, then stick to dimsums if you want something light, or if you want something heavier, choosing popular dishes like sweet and sour pork, kung pao chicken, eggroll will do. Makis, katsudon, tempura, and chicken teriyaki are some of the popular options if you’re going for Japanese.

Be sure to prepare some bowl and chopsticks that your guests can use. That should add a lot to the Asian theme you are aiming for. Serving Chinese and Japanese tea to wash everything down will also be great additions.

For your cake, you can choose between a cake shaped like a giant fortune cookie or a cake with a dragon design. Both are believed to bring luck, and who wouldn’t want some luck on their party?!

Lastly, you can choose to serve punch or not. Dragon punch is definitely THE punch for an oriental party! Dragon punch is basically any red punch that you feel your guests will prefer. Enjoy!

Beach Party Food For Adults

You can go for barbecue meat or seafood, or just serve fried chicken to make things simple. Compliment your main dish with some salad like coleslaw or potato salad. Some chips with salsa and nuts will also be great additions.

If you are up to it, you can serve your dishes in pineapple or coconut husks. That should bring your theme party to the next level.

For your cake, any cake that includes pineapple as its main ingredient will be a good candidate. From the more simple pineapple cake to pineapple upside-down cake, those will really be neat. Or better yet, just serve some fresh fruit, which will be a refreshing conclusion to your meal.

What’s a party without a good drink or two? You can still go for refreshing drinks like fruits shake or fruit punch, but if you would rather serve some alcohol, beer, wine or your favorite cocktail drinks, that will also be fine.

Blue's Clues Birthday Party Food

When preparing the food for your Blue’s Clues  party, you can use shape (bone or paw-shaped), color (blue or magenta) and the name of the food to pick fitting meals to include in your party menu.

How about some corn dogs and hotdogs on stick? Those will definitely be a great hit to your kiddies, and they will be great additions on any dog-related party. Adding some hush puppies in the picture will work as well.

If you are up to making your own pasta, we think that making some in paw or bone-shaped is quite cool, and will make your spaghetti a very theme-based addition. Shaped-pastries and cupcakes with magenta or blue icings will not just tempt your guests’ sweet tooth, they are also very theme-based. And of course some blue or pink lemonade to wash everything down will be a refreshing addition.

Although we are advocates of your theme being evident down to your party food, if you prefer serving something that one cannot associate to Blue’s Clues  or dog in general, feel free to do so. Just make sure you have at least three of the theme-based food mentioned above, and you can serve anything you like on top of that and still a have very theme-based party!

For your cake, we think a birthday cake shaped like a paw or a bone is worth look at. But if you prefer having a typical-shaped cake, that should also be fine. Just decorate it with blue or magenta paw prints and it’s good to go.

We are great fans of lemonade, especially if it can be served in blue or pink color. But if you prefer some other drink, just make sure they come in the right color, and they will be perfect!

Care Bear Party Food Ideas

There are many ways to approach your Care Bear party menu, and the easiest way is to go for colorful dishes. We think serving dishes that represents the different colors of the rainbow is a cool way to celebrate your love of Care Bears down to your party food. This can mean serving some spaghetti or hotdog (red), French fries or mashed potato (yellow), orange chicken, salad (green), cupcakes and cookies with blue and violet icings, and of course some  blue lemonade to wash everything down.

We also think that heart-shaped food are very appropriate for a care bear party, so if you want to serve other kid favorites like pizza, make sure they come in heart shape and they’ll fit just right to what you have prepared so far.

Another approach to your Care Bear food repertoire is to single out dishes which include bear favorites like honey, apple, berries and the like as some of the major ingredients. This means you can go for honey-glazed chicken, apple beef pot roast and any berry-based cheesecake, just to name a few. You can choose to go with just one approach but going for or a combination will give you more choices in pleasing the palate of your party guests.

Care Bears happen to live at a kingdom made of clouds, so in addition to the other things you have prepared, having some white cotton candy to satisfy the sweet tooth of your young and not so young guests alike will not just be a cool addition because it taste great, it’s also great because it fits right into all your other theme-based stuff.

For your cake, we think a birthday cake composed of small cupcakes with the right Care Bear symbol arranged in a cake stand is very fitting, and will also be a great party favor for your guests. However, if you would rather go for a traditional birthday cake, then a rainbow-colored one will be a good candidate.

And to wash everything down, you can go for drinks that represent one of the rainbow colors, which can be a lemonade (or a blue one if you prefer something more colorful), an orange juice, or tomato juice. Talk about a colorful conclusion to your rainbow-filled meal.

Circus Party Food Ideas

Finger food are the best candidates when you’re planning what food to serve for your circus 1st birthday party. Corn dogs, popcorn, peanuts, pretzels, fries, chicken poppers, and so on are just a few examples.

Another approach is to serve colorful food, primarily red, blue and yellow ones. So this means tomato-based pasta, corn on cob, banana muffin, and blueberry cheesecake, though not exactly under finger food category, are also worth considering.

You can also have an ice cream cone station and maybe a cotton candy booth that can cater to your kid guests and their older counterpart’s sweet tooth.

Of course, feel free to serve any other favorite that does not match the above-mentioned criteria, as long as you serve substantial amount of what we term as circus-themed food.

For your cake, you can have one which shows a colorful circus tent, although a cheerful clown is also a cool alternative. We also think an elephant in a circus stand is worth considering. Given that circus comes with lots of elements, you definitely have lots of choices when it comes to your cake. Just make sure it’s very colorful, since that is a MUST on anything you prepare for your circus party!

We are great fans of lemonade, and since it comes in yellow, it’s a great candidate on quenching your guests’ thirst. And what’s so cool about it is that you can serve it in red or blue version, and it will still taste great!

Cowboy Party Food Ideas

Any dishes that are popularly served on barbecues should also be part of your cowboy party menu. Hotdogs with marshmallows, burger, barbecued ribs and other grilled meats are good candidates. Corn on cob is definitely worth adding. Dishes with beans are also worth considering. With so many items to choose from, lack of food ideas is definitely not a problem when throwing a cowboy party.

Another way to approach your cowboy party food is to serve dishes that come in brown color. Fried or roasted chicken with gravy properly meets this criteria and so does chocolate, which should please your kid and adult guests’ sweet tooth alike.

Serve your dishes using stoneware dining sets. If you have enough, your guests could also eat from similar plates and bowls. If you don't have stoneware sets, brown plates or ones with horse prints will also be sufficient.

A chocolate cake, with its brown color is just perfect. But if you want to go for something specially-shaped, we think that a cake shaped like a pony, a guitar or a cowboy hat will make you a nice and very theme-based birthday cake.

Although a root beer float is the perfect concoction to wash all that wonderful meal down, serving iced tea or iced chocolate will also be worthy alternatives.

Dora Party Food Ideas

The good thing about having a Dora party is that your party food will be the least of your problems, since you can serve Mexican favorites and they’ll be perfect and very theme-based. Mexican food usually means rice, beans, tortilla, salsa, chicken and beef. This can mean burritos, tacos, chili con carne, or anything with avocados. Just keep in mind that a portion of your guests might not enjoy really hot/spicy dishes, so even if you enjoy lots of chilis, you might want to hold back a bit.

A Dora party also means Spanish favorites like Paella, Gambas, Chorizo, Spanish omelet and so on are quite welcome. Since Dora and Boots also adore banana, we think that serving said fruit on its natural state, jamba juice style, or as a major pastry ingredient, is also something you can consider adding to your already wide range of food choices.

Since we bet your kiddie guests will enjoy something sweet, be sure to include churros and some thick chocolate to satisfy their sweet tooth. That should already give you lots of choices, but if you want to go beyond these, we found this Mexican fiesta menu that you might want to look at.

For your cake, we think a birthday cake with Dora and friends as part of the decorations is the way to go. Another option is to serve a banana cake for your guests’ enjoyment. Either way, your cake will be quite a hit and at the same time, very theme-based.

Though you can’t serve margaritas on your first birthday party, we think that serving lemonade, iced tea and the like in one of those pretty margarita glasses (you can get plastic versions if you prefer) will be a cool experience, so we say go for it.
